Sometimes Mon brings you outside just around the time mummy gets home. You wait patiently for mummy's car to appear at the end of the road. As I make the turn into the alley, I see you standing (or squatted) patiently. And when Mon spots mummy's car, I can see her lips move and the edges of her mouth turn up. She is telling you that mummy is home. I see a glow on your face. She stands you up (if you are not standing already). Your arms stretched out and your legs kicking and stamping the ground. Such pure excitement in those eyes and your movements. Mummy's heart skips a beat.
Yesterday was different. Yesterday the only thing holding you up was your tight grip on Mon's finger. And you were walking towards me. A few steps very confidently and firmly. Wow! You will be walking all on your own in no time. Now mummy is wondering whether you can make it for your birthday party in 2 weeks. We'll just have to wait and see. Just a little more practice.
